BETH Howells from Newtown has recently (February, 2017) been promoted to the role of Recruiter for an award-winning care company in Newtown.
The 19-year-old, who previously worked as a receptionist at Abacare, will join current HR Consultant, Dawn Williams, to deal with incoming job applications and selecting candidates to go on to the interview process for a care role.
Beth said: “Having worked for 12 months on reception and having daily contact with our service users, I felt I wanted to work towards recruiting the best carers to provide the best care possible for them.”
Since leaving College Beth has worked for Abacare and has gained any experience through the Newtown office. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym and going to stage rally events to support her partner in his hobby of rally driving.
Dawn Williams, Group HR Consultant at Abacare, said: “We’re thrilled that Beth has joined our recruitment team. She was previously working for us as a receptionist so her knowledge and experience in dealing with service users and care staff was a good base for her in her new role.
“She has embraced the role by ensuring that she is a great ambassador for the company, going out into the community to local job centres and forming a good relationship with local advisors.”

Dawn added: “No experience is necessary, just a willingness to care and to learn. Our company induction includes first aid, dementia awareness, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users. We will also pay carers while they are training with us and also pay for their DBS checks.
