Abacare enables vulnerable students to continue studying
UNIVERSITY and college students needing care in Wales can from this month (April, 2017) continue with their studies and receive visits from social care workers.
Abacare, which has offices in Bangor, Newtown, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) and Ystradgynlais, is able to provide care for vulnerable students studying away from home at university or college.
Peter Angelides, CEO of Abacare, said: “We think it is extremely important for undergraduates and college students to keep their independence and continue studying away from home while also receiving the bespoke care they require.
“Our social care workers are able to visit people in university halls of residence or student housing. Students will be treated just like any other service user that might receive our support. We will be able to create a specific care plan for them and visit as often as they need us too.
“We have a committed team that is able to provide specialist care. We are able to select a carer whose personality matches up with the person they are caring for, giving them someone they can trust and get on with on a daily basis.”
Abacare operates a professional Care Management Team that is committed to providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes.
The large team of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive based outcomes and person centred care to people throughout Wales.
