Chance to raise awareness for Carers Week
A CAMPAIGN to help raise awareness for carers from all over the country including Wales and the important role they play will take place this month (June, 2017).
Carers Week, which takes place from June 12 until 18, highlights the impact of caring on daily life and encourages the public to think about whether they could manage a caring role.
Ffion Evans, Registered Manager at the award-winning care provider, Abacare, said: “Each year we get involved with the Carers Week campaign as it focuses on how the UK’s current carer population is coping and how effectively they are being supported by the Government.
“It also highlights the growing numbers of carers and investigates if the wider population is prepared for future caring responsibilities.
“Becoming a carer can significantly impact a person’s life. The campaign will help those already in the industry to make sure they are accessing all the practical and emotional support they need to care safely and look after themselves.”
Abacare recognises the hard work and dedication its social care workers put into their jobs.
Ffion added: “We believe it’s extremely important to offer any support that our carers might need. If they are finding things particularly stressful we have members of staff who they are welcome to talk to and discuss any problems with.
“We value our team hugely and would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to them for all of their hard work.
“We are keen to support Carers Week as we believe it is crucial to highlight the importance of carers within the Abacare team as well as those around the UK.”
