HELEN Mason and Michele Hillman from the Aberdare have recently (September, 2017) been promoted to Regional Managers at an award-winning care company in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT).
Previously the pair both worked as Community Carers for Abacare but will now go on to be responsible for the supervision of staff, monitoring the quality of care being delivered, carrying out initial assessments for new care packages and writing service delivery plans.
Fourty-six-year-old Helen, who will manage the Taff/Rhondda area, said: “I am over the moon to have been promoted to Regional Manager. While I really enjoyed working as a carer out in the field and looking after lots of lovely service users, I felt it was definitely time for a change and I am thrilled that I have been able to remain within the company and advance my career.
“I will still be in touch with other staff members and service users on a regular basis and I am looking forward to the different challenges my new position will bring.”
In her spare time, Helen enjoys spending time with her three young grandsons.
Fifty-year-old Michele, who will manage the Uchaf (Upper Aberdare) area, said: “I am thrilled with my new position at Abacare and am looking forward to overseeing the smooth running of our care services in the Uchaf area.
“As I worked as a carer before this I have a real understanding of what support they need in their job and feel this will really help in my new position.”
When she’s not working, Michele enjoys spending time with friends and family.
