Abacare to put the kettle on for charity
PEOPLE from Wales interested in care can pop into a care provider’s offices next month (March, 2018) for tea and a chat about working in the industry while also helping to raise money for charity.
Abacare’s offices in Newtown and Rhondda Cynon Taf are supporting the event and raising funds as part of Dementia UK’s Make Time for a Cuppa event on Thursday, March 1.
For the past two years our offices have got involved with Dementia UK’s Make Time for a Cuppa event and it has been such a success that we have decided to get involved once again.
Our offices in Newtown and Rhondda Cynon Taf will be providing tea and cakes in exchange for a small donation to the Dementia UK charity. Anyone who comes along can chat to our very friendly and helpful staff about working in the care industry and how a career in care could work for them. They’ll also be able to find out more about the training we provide.
People can drop into our Newtown office at St David’s House, New Street, Newtown, Powys, SY16 1RB between 2.30pm and 3.30pm and our Rhondda Cynon Taf office at Ty Cynon, Navigation Park, Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taf, CF45 4SN between 2pm and 3pm.
Dementia UK offers specialist one-to-one support and expert advice for people living with dementia.
Its Admiral Nurses work hand in hand with families, helping them cope with the fear, uncertainty and difficult everyday reality of dementia.
The Time for a Cuppa 2018 event will raise vital money to help fund more Admiral Nurses to support families in local communities and to run the charity’s helpline, which is open seven days a week and is for anyone with questions or concerns about dementia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a career or someone who just fancies a bit of a change. Being a carer is an extremely rewarding job and you get to meet lots of wonderful people too.
We’re also offering FaceTime or Skype interviews to candidates in order to meet the demands of the modern jobseeker. Our view is that busy people wanting a career change can ‘meet’ us via FaceTime or similar applications and find out about the roles we have to offer, as well as meet a couple of team members and, if they are about, also say ‘hello’ to a carer too. Anyone interested in a role with us, should get in touch.
