Jane climbs career ladder to Branch Manager

Jane Jones from Newtown has recently (November, 2018) been promoted to Branch Manager at our Newtown office.

She joined us in 2014 as a Care Co-ordinator and worked her way up the career ladder to Operations Executive and now to Branch Manager where she will oversee staff and support them in their roles.

The 34-year-old said: “I am over the moon with my promotion to Branch Manager and am already enjoying my new position overseeing and supporting all the staff in the office.

“I feel I have really started to carve a career out for myself within the care industry and am looking forward to what the future holds for me. It is fantastic that a business such as Abacare is committed to promoting from within and providing its staff, who show outstanding contribution to their role, with career progression. I would really recommend the care industry to anyone else looking for a vocation in life.”

Jane started working in care at 18-years-old and also worked in The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen, Oswestry before having a career break to have her two children. She returned to the care industry with Abacare in 2014.

She previously qualified in Health and Social Care level three at Newtown college and has gone on to complete her Health and Social Care Leadership and Management qualification to level five standards while with us.

Jane added: “The Health and Social Care Leadership and Management qualification was tricky at first as I had to do it alongside my full time position, but once I got stuck in, I really enjoyed it. I had lots of support from my assessors as well as the rest of my team at Abacare, which really helped. Gaining the qualification was something I always wanted to do, so I feel extremely proud to have completed it.”

In her spare time she enjoys helping out at the area’s Newtown Football Club where she assists with catering and fundraising events. She also runs the tea hut on match days.
