Jackie takes on recruitment for us
Jackie Price from Holyhead has recently (April, 2019) been promoted to the role of Recruiter at our Bangor office.
The 50-year-old, who previously worked as a Regional Manager, will now deal with incoming job applications and selecting candidates to go through the interview process for a care role.
She said: “I am thrilled to now be a part of Abacare’s recruitment team, helping to find the kindest and most caring individuals from the area to work for us.
“I previously worked as a Regional Manager, which meant working with our team of carers on a daily basis, so I know exactly the sort of people we’re looking for to join the team and who will fit in well.
“I really enjoyed my time as a Regional Manager but felt like it was time for a change. I am positive that the experience I have gained within the company already helps me to speak to potential job applicants with confidence.”
Jackie will be responsible for following up on all recruitment enquiries we receive into our Bangor office and ensuring that successful enquiries are fully compliant with its recruitment process.
In her spare time Jackie enjoys travelling, walking, boating and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ffion Evans, Regional Manager at our Bangor office, said: “Jackie was the ideal person to help deal with our recruitment, who better to hire carers than someone who has worked with them extensively and knows exactly what we’re looking for.
“The demand for care in the area is continuously growing and our service user base is always expanding so we’re always on the lookout for kind and caring individuals who are looking for a career change and want to join us. Jackie and the rest of the recruitment team will play an integral part of the decision process for who we consider for the roles available.”
Anyone interested in joining the team should call 01248 677 919 or email bangorjobs@abacare.org.uk.
Ffion added: “No experience is necessary, just a willingness to care and to learn. Our company induction includes first aid, dementia awareness, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users.
“There are lots of opportunities for internal advancement for all our team members who show commitment, reliability and true passion. We provide a great support network for all of our carers too.
“Anyone who joins us can reach QCF level 2, 3 and 5 with our support and we’re urging anyone thinking of changing their job, or getting back into the work force again, to get in touch as soon as possible and not to miss out on this fantastic career opportunity.”
We provide all staff with full training and shadowing before they start, and they have additional, on the job support from the team 24/7.
They are given free uniforms, access to a staff scooter scheme for those needing transport and a national staff discount scheme for all major brands as well as 28 days paid holiday, paid travel between calls and paid mileage.
