Morgan raises £2,000 with charity skydive

Morgan Phillips, who works as a Carer at our Rhondda Cynon Taf office, took part in a skydive in aid of Papyrus UK, which is a young person’s suicide prevention charity, and raised £2,000.

Twenty-year-old Morgan said: “This was the first skydive I have ever done and I was a little nervous about it, but it turned out to be a real adrenaline rush. I was initially going to be doing the skydive in 2017 but I wasn’t mentally ready for it, so rearranged for this year. It was for such a worthwhile cause, which got me through the nerves.

“I chose to fundraise for Papyrus UK as I lost my cousin to suicide in 2017. The charity aims to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives.

“I am thrilled to have raised £2,000 for the charity and I had a great time doing the skydive. The money will go towards the fantastic work the charity does.”

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people, male and female, under 35-years-old, in the UK.

The charity’s vision is for a society which speaks openly about suicide and has the resources to help young people who may have suicidal thoughts.
