Fred retires after 13 years in care work

Fred Tyson from Ystalyfera celebrated his retirement recently (August, 2019) after providing care in Wales for more than 13 years.

Fred started working in the care industry in 2006 and joined us in 2016.

Joe Jenkins, Branch Manager at our Ystradgynlais office, said: “Everyone here is incredibly sad to see Fred go as he has been a loyal, committed and friendly member of the team.

“We would like to thank him for his service and wish him a very happy retirement. Fred has all the attributes that we look for in a carer and he carved out a fantastic career for himself in the care industry. He will be greatly missed, not just by the staff, but by our service users as well.”

Prior to working in the care industry, Fred worked as a washing machine repair man.

The 71-year-old said: “Working in care is the best thing I have ever done. It is the most rewarding job I have ever had, and I am really going to miss everyone from my colleagues to the service users I looked after.”

Fred will now be spending his retirement looking after his garden and relaxing.
