We’re looking for 100 new new carers to help keep the elderly and vulnerable at home in Wales.
It’s vital people who wish to remain living at home are able to do so. Evidence suggests those who do have a better and more fulfilling life as they are surrounded by their own things, family, friends and even pets. So, a role as a homecare worker really enhances the lives of others and prolongs it too.
We’re really excited to be hosting a recruitment day at our branch at Ty Cynon, Navigation Park, Abercynon in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) on Wednesday, October 23 from 10am until 4pm to meet people in the area who might be interested in working with us.
What we’re looking for…
We’re looking to expand our workforce by 100 new carers and we’re inviting people to make an appointment to come and speak with one of our qualified staff members about what being a carer entails and what a typical day in the life of a carer looks like.
It’s a great opportunity to chat with someone who already has experience in the field. Anyone is welcome to come along. No formal qualifications are required as we provide full training free of charge. We can chat to potential candidates about the opportunities they will have for career advancement in the role too.
We’re looking for kind, honest, caring and reliable individuals who wish to have a stable and long-term career in care, and who would like to forge rewarding relationships with the service users they care for.
We’d particularly love to hear from young people looking to work in the care sector. It was recently revealed by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) that of 2,020 people surveyed in England, half of people aged 18-24 (57%) and 25-34 (56%) would consider changing career for a position that supported others. Care represents a good, solid and secure career with training and advancement prospects for life. We have an ageing population who will need looking after, which means an additional 580,000 workers are required by the industry by 2035.
