Delun completes level five management course in record time
Delun Davies from Brynamman received her level five award in Business Management. She completed the course in the record time of eight months.
The course is run by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and is designed for practising middle managers. It helps them develop skills and experience and prepares them for senior management responsibilities.
Twenty-three-year-old Delun, who works as a Field Care Supervisor for our Ystradgynlais office, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to bits to have completed my level five course and receive my certificates.
“It has been a lot of hard work, but it is so worth it, and I was thrilled to hear that I was the fastest finishing candidate that the training company has ever had, completing the course in eight months instead of the usual 18.
“I have also signed up to complete my level five training in health and social care. I already have a degree in the subject, however it is based on theory work and I wanted to finalise my qualification by redoing the course in a work-based environment.
“I’d like to thank the team at Abacare for allowing me to gain qualifications alongside my job. They’re a fantastic support. I would recommend anyone interested in working in the care industry to give it a go. If you have an affinity for care work, it’s an industry where you can have a career for life.”
Delun joined us as a care worker in 2015. She went on to become Regional Manager and Field Care Supervisor in 2017.
When she is not working, Delun enjoys meeting with friends and going to the gym.
Congratulations Delun!
Joe Jenkins, Branch Manager at our Ystradgynlais office, said: “We’d like to say a huge ‘congratulations’ to Delun. She has gone from strength to strength and is proving that a job in care can turn into a career.
“She is an inspiration and if there’s anyone out there who has been inspired by Delun and would like to join the team, they should definitely get in touch.”
