We’re celebrating 10 years looking after elderly in Wales

We are celebrating 10 years of providing care to the elderly and vulnerable in Wales this year (2019).

Abacare team

We were established in 2009 and opened our first branch in North Wales, providing care in the surrounding areas. We have opened a further six offices across the country and employ more than 1,000 carers.

Back in 2009 we started out with one branch and our carers provided their expert care to our service users and since then we have gone from strength to strength.

In 2014 we were awarded the main care contract for Powys County Council. We have continued to grow in the region and as well as our Newtown office, we opened another in Ystradgynlais.

We also opened new offices in Ebbw Vale in 2018 and Rhondda Cynon Taf in 2016 as we took over the provision of home care services in the area. It was a seamless transition and we now provide more than 5,000 hours of care with 300 local staff.

After operating at a very high standard for a number of years across Wales, we announced earlier this year that we would be taking on care services in Flintshire and Swansea and the surrounding areas. All care staff and service users have continued to provide and receive care services as normal. Going forward we will be introducing improvements in technology to enhance the service provided and continue to improve recruitment in the areas.

What a fantastic 10 years it has been. We’re now an industry leader and are growing as a team all the time.

We’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our hardworking staff and carers as we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. It has been a joy to see the company grow year on year.
