Our Ebbw Vale branch calls on businesses for donations of masks, gloves and aprons

In addition to the equipment they already have, frontline staff working for our Ebbw Vale branch are asking businesses to donate any items they no longer need into a donation box outside Penallta Rugby Club.

Masks, gloves, aprons

There are many businesses out there who might use gloves, masks or aprons on a daily basis, but have had to close temporarily due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Those PPE items may be sat being unused and our carers could certainly make great use of them at the moment.

All of our carers wear PPE on a daily basis when looking after our elderly and vulnerable service users, however, like hospitals, surgeries and other care companies across the country, this has had to be stepped up during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Our work in the community is essential and we’re protecting the NHS from being overloaded by shielding those who need care from the virus, so any PPE we can get is a huge help.

It has been widely reported that there is a lack of PPE provided to key workers due to Government shortages and we have had to do our best with what we do have, so if any businesses have unused and unopened masks, aprons or gloves, we’d really appreciate them being donated into the box outside the rugby club.
