Our Services
Domiciliary Home Care
Home care visits from Abacare help people who require a little support with day-to-day living. This involves a visiting service where trained carers make regular visits to provide personal care, domestic assistance and companionship to those who require it the most, be they elderly, disabled or even young.
We provide hourly care options across Wales offering a reliable service in the comfort of your own home.
Our vision
Everyone in Abacare is clear about our vision to build a reputation for the delivery of the highest possible standards of care to our clients.
Our priority is supporting clients to maintain the maximum degree of independence possible and this is made clear during initial training and through our ongoing refresher training sessions.
Our aim is to exceed the National Minimum Standards for care as a means of differentiating ourselves from our competitors and become an effective and dependable provider that includes:
- Recruiting and retaining the best staff, as well as training and rewarding them better than our competitors
- Providing 24/7 support to both clients and our staff
- Upholding a strong set of core values
- Robust performance monitoring to underpin continuous improvement and standards of compliance
- Working with our clients to develop and deliver the requirements of Person Centred Care Plans; treating people with respect, honesty and dignity; and empowering them to remain as independent as possible.
Dementia Care
Being diagnosed with dementia doesn’t mean you have to lose control of your life, or your independence. Many people continue to live fulfilled and happy lives for many years, even if adjustments are necessary.
If a close member of your family suffers from dementia, it can be challenging trying to cope with work, family and care options.
Why choose dementia support?
Dementia sufferers may find that live-in care is a far better alternative to long-term residential care. With one-to-one bespoke support, clients will not need to leave familiar surroundings, or pets, will have 24 hour support and be assured that the carer has the skills needed to encourage independence, provide kindness and understanding and will do so in a dignified and professional manner.

Dementia support – help is at hand
Live-in support for people with Dementia provides many benefits but we do not underestimate that it is a big step inviting someone new into your home.
However, our carers will soon become a valuable member of the household, who will support the client to be as independent as possible, whilst undertaking the cooking, washing, household chores and shopping if and when required.
Quality time can be spent with family and friends at any time, to suit each client, in their own environment.
At Abacare, we always take into consideration that…
Each person with dementia is a unique individual with their own individual experiences of life, their own needs and feelings, and their own likes and dislikes.
Although some symptoms of dementia are common to everyone, dementia affects each person in different ways. It is vital that this is recognised and understood.
We all need to feel valued and respected and it is important for a person with dementia to feel that they still have an important part to play in life. We strive to give encouragement, reassurance and support other family members to understand the person’s needs and concerns.
Respite Care
Available for a minimum of two weeks, an experienced and fully trained live-in carer will be on-hand to continue the routines and lifestyle of the person being cared for.
Our respite care is centred on you, your loved one and the home. We have many families that ask us for on-going respite as this enables them to plan their breaks throughout the year in advance, often benefiting from the same carer each time.
However, we also understand that respite care is often an emergency situation and, as a flexible company with a large pool of excellent carers, we can usually arrange for respite care quickly and efficiently.
Short-term breaks are the ideal stepping stone if you are considering live-in care as a more permanent on-going solution. It gives you the opportunity to test the relationship of one-to-one care without any long-term commitment.
Reablement
We also offer re-enablement over a six week period which is a method of support best suited to those who have spent some time in hospital or residential care and wish to regain their skills and independence in the environment of their own home.
Reablement training is provided for all new recruits as part of the induction training.
At Abacare, we enjoy what we do and are proud of the investment we make in growing our working relationships with partner organisations.
Our respite and reablement service aims to provide:
- Help to reduce avoidable hospital admissions, support timely discharges and prevent readmissions.
- Use early and intensive interventions within the client’s own home to help them to regain their abilities and improve your quality of life.
- Support clients to re-learn and maintain daily living skills.
- Help to regain independence by reducing the need for support services.
- Promote a person’s physical, social and psychological health and well-being and their identified outcomes.
- Help to develop a range of skills and competencies.
- Work with clients to support a positive transition to a stable long-term package that continues the “enablement” ethos
- Services are available 24hrs a day, 365 days of the year including Bank Holidays, depending on assessed need
