Say ‘hello’ to our Community Carer, Eira Evans
Our Community Carer Eira Evans has been providing professional care for more than 21 years and joined our team in 2014. She has become a treasured part of the Abacare family ever since.
She recently won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Care Heroes Awards too!
Her role with us covers all areas of care from palliative to domiciliary to learning disabilities and involves the delivery of professional personal care to members of the community on a daily basis.
We offer a person-centred approach to domiciliary care. Every individual in our care is initially assessed and a service delivery plan is written to ensure all their particular needs, both physically and mentally, are met.
Eira is very much focussed on delivering this style of care and goes out of her way to provide person centred care to every service user she visits. Eira is patient and caring, ensuring that tasks are carried out at the person’s pace and with their full engagement. People often observe Eira’s determination to provide people with the time they need to undertake tasks, and always comment on her gentle and reassuring touch as she goes about her work.
One of the service users she cares for said: “Eira is a wonderful carer who is always available to help, she gives 250% and does the role from the bottom of her heart. If all carers aim for the standards that Eira achieves, they will all be aiming for perfection.”
She sets a marvellous example to us all and is an inspiration to any newcomers coming into the industry.
Eira says: “I have always cared for people, whether my family, friends or as a paid carer. I have always been passionate about care and it’s always been a big part of my life. I love the feeling of helping people to remain at home, surrounded by family and friends where they belong.
